Navigating Into The Future - The State of Change

I've just returned from facilitating a two-day partner and senior leaders retreat.

What I've learned from these retreats and my conversations over the past year with leaders like you is astonishing.

Much of the conversations revolve around these questions.

What I've learned from these retreats and my conversations over the past year with leaders like you is astonishing.

Navigating Change

Much of the conversations revolve around these questions.

  • How do we navigate change?

  • What are the best ways to invest in the future of my firm?

  • How do we improve our employees' level of engagement?

  • How do we meet the challenges of the future so that our firm can thrive?

  • Will our culture change?

It struck me that, no matter your size, many of the challenges you face are similar to those of other firms and companies. The differences are leadership focus and scale.

The Future State

Take stock of what has made your company successful, the values, culture, and people, and evaluate the current state of things. Take an honest look at your strengths and weaknesses, opportunities and threats.

A clear vision for the future provides clarity for everyone in the organization. For it to be meaningful, the vision must be founded on your firm's purpose.

A vision that is co-created and shared throughout the company can be powerful, provided that you have no more than 3-5 strategic initiatives that are supported by strategic action plans with accountability built in.

When was the last time you and your team co-created a vision for your organization? What are your answers to these questions? What other challenges, the ones on your desk right now, are troubling you?

Until next time!
